Alexandria children share Halloween candy with empty bowl
Trick-or-treaters refill unattended bowl in Lynhaven neighborhood, sheriff's office says

Two trick-or-treaters refilled an empty candy bowl with their own treats on Halloween night in the Lynhaven neighborhood, according to a social media post by the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office.
The children encountered the unattended bowl on Friday evening at a home where residents were away, according to the post shared on the sheriff’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. The video accompanying the post shows the children placing candy from their collection into the empty bowl.
“By the time these awesome kids arrived, the bowl was empty. But instead of just moving on, these young Alexandrians did something super sweet: they filled the empty bowl with some of their own candy,” the post said.
The Sheriff’s Office described the action as demonstrating “pure generosity” and “the spirit of our community.”
The post did not identify the children or provide a specific address within the neighborhood.
The video was shared publicly on the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office social media accounts.
