Alexandria planning department to host virtual meeting on development, housing initiatives
Jan. 8 session will cover stormwater reviews, Duke Street planning and proposed zoning changes
The city’s Department of Planning & Zoning will hold a virtual community update on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. to discuss ongoing development projects and planning initiatives.
The meeting will cover how and why the city conducts stormwater reviews for development projects, the Duke Street Land Use planning process, and the Housing 2040 Master Plan, according to a city news release.
Staff will also provide updates on redevelopment projects under review throughout the city and proposed zoning text amendments for commercial-to-residential conversions.
The virtual updates are designed to keep residents informed about larger development projects under consideration, regulatory changes affecting new development, and upcoming planning initiatives, officials said.
Residents can join via Zoom using meeting ID 926 1948 6751 and passcode 260570, or by calling 301-715-8592.
Information on this and previous updates is available on the project website.
