Alexandria police close section of King Street overnight after vehicle crashes into electrical pole
Driver uninjured; power restoration expected by late afternoon
A section of King Street was closed early Sunday after a single-vehicle crash damaged an electrical pole, the Alexandria Police Department said.
The crash occurred in the 4700 to 5000 block of King Street. The driver was not injured, police said.

Public safety crews were on scene and utility teams had been notified as of about 3 a.m., according to the department’s social media post.
Two Dominion Energy customers were without power as of 7 a.m., according to the utility’s outage map. Power was expected to be restored between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
