Alexandria police seek witnesses to King Street crash involving teen on scooter
16-year-old struck Tuesday afternoon at North Quaker Lane intersection

Alexandria Police are asking for the public’s help in investigating a crash that injured a teenage scooter rider on Tuesday afternoon.
A 16-year-old was struck while riding a scooter at the intersection of King Street and North Quaker Lane at approximately 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Investigators do not have camera footage of the incident and are seeking witnesses or anyone with dash camera video from the area around that time.
Anyone with information or relevant footage is asked to contact Investigator Kolodzinski at 703-859-4447.
The police department did not release information about the teen’s condition or details about the vehicle involved.
I have reached out to the Alexandria Police Department for additional information.
The crash comes as Alexandria pursues its Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate fatal and severe injuries on city streets by 2028. Between 2017 and 2021, more than 150 people were killed or severely injured in traffic crashes in Alexandria, according to city data.
The city’s Vision Zero Crash Dashboard provides public access to traffic safety data, though crashes may not appear until two months after an incident, while reports are finalized. The dashboard includes crashes reported to police involving injuries, deaths, or at least $1,500 in damages.
More information about Vision Zero and crash data is available at alexandriava.gov/visionzero.
