Blue, Yellow line trains delayed after person struck at Braddock Road station
Trains were single tracking between Van Dorn Street/Huntington and Potomac Yard as crews responded to the incident, WMATA said.

Blue and Yellow line Metrorail service was disrupted Sunday after a person was struck by a train at the Braddock Road station in Alexandria, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority said.
Police and first responders were dispatched to the station at approximately 9 a.m.
The Alexandria Police Department said there was a significant police presence at the station and that it was assisting Metro Transit Police with an investigation. The department asked the public to avoid the area.
Trains were single-tracking between Van Dorn Street/Huntington and Potomac Yard as crews responded to the incident, WMATA said. Customers were experiencing delays in both directions.
The transit agency described the individual as a trespasser. No further details on the person’s condition was immediately available.
WMATA was contacted for additional information.
The disruption compounded an already difficult day for Blue and Yellow line riders. Free shuttle buses were replacing trains between National Airport and Pentagon City through Sunday’s system closing due to a construction project at Crystal City station that has resulted in the station’s closure.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
