Firefighters battle kitchen fire during overnight snowstorm
No injuries reported; cause under investigation

Firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire in the 200 block of North Gordon Street early Sunday morning as heavy snow fell across the city.
Engine 207 arrived just after 1 a.m. to find smoke showing from a house, according to Alexandria Firefighters IAFF Local 2141. Crews from Engine 207 and Tower 203 located and extinguished the kitchen fire.
The fire broke out as 3 to 4 inches of snow were accumulating across the region, with temperatures around 18°F.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
