Flights resume at Reagan National after security incident grounds all operations
United Airlines passengers evacuated and bussed to terminal during brief halt at Washington-area airport
All flights were temporarily grounded at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) on Tuesday due to what was reported as a “security incident”.
“All flight operations are being held at Reagan National while passengers on a United Airlines flight are being offloaded and bussed to the terminal,” the airport said in a statement.
Flights resumed by 12:50 pm local time.
Footage taken by a passenger on a Delta Air Lines flight shows the United plane with emergency vehicles visible nearby.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed ground delays “due to security.”
