Man hospitalized after Sunday night shooting in Alexandria
Police investigating after victim found with multiple gunshot wounds near Swann Avenue
A man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times Sunday night, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Swann Avenue and Oakville Street around 10:30 p.m. and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released information about the victim’s condition, a possible suspect or a motive in the shooting.
Police maintained an increased presence in the area overnight as detectives continued their investigation. Residents were asked to avoid the area.
The shooting occurred near the Oakville Apartments complex at 451 Swann Ave.
