Nominations now open for 2026 Celebrate Women Awards honoring Alexandria's nonprofit leaders
Five women will be recognized for going above and beyond in the nonprofit sector
Alexandria Celebrates Women is calling on the community to help identify the city’s most dedicated women in the nonprofit sector, announcing this week that nominations are now open for its 2026 Celebrate Women Awards.
This year’s awards will recognize extraordinary women in the nonprofit world who are supporting the Alexandria community through challenging times. Five honorees will be selected.
Nominees must be women in the nonprofit sector who have gone above and beyond in serving the community, whether as paid staff or as volunteers. They must live or work in the City of Alexandria, and the nonprofit they serve must be based in the city. Those submitting nominations are asked to tell their nominee’s story in 750 words or fewer.
Nominations close at midnight on April 8, 2026. To submit a nomination, visit the nomination form.
Alexandria Celebrates Women is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) with a two-fold mission: to raise money for the Alexandria Domestic Violence Safehouse and recognize the accomplishments and contributions of Alexandria, Virginia’s women of the past, present, and future.
