One dead, one seriously injured in King Street crash
Alexandria police seek witnesses, footage in fatal collision near S. Taylor Street


A man died Saturday following a two-vehicle crash on King Street that sent two people to the hospital and closed a section of the roadway for hours, Alexandria police said.
Officers responded to the intersection of King Street and South Taylor Street around 8 a.m. for a reported crash involving two vehicles, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Both drivers, adult males, were transported to a local hospital. One driver later succumbed to his injuries, police said. The second driver remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Westbound traffic on King Street was diverted while officers conducted their on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera or surveillance footage of the incident to come forward.
