Snow Showers and Holiday Cheer: Your guide to a festive Alexandria weekend
A chance of flurries won't dampen the holiday spirit as markets, concerts, and seasonal celebrations take over the city
Bundle up, Alexandria, this weekend delivers a full slate of holiday festivities with a dusting of winter weather to match.
A slight chance of snow arrives Friday afternoon, with flurries possible through Saturday night, when forecasters expect 1 to 3 inches of snow to accumulate. By Sunday, skies should clear, though temperatures will hover in the low 30s.
The weather sets the stage for a packed calendar of seasonal events across the city. The 30th Annual Fine Art & Fine Craft Holiday Market continues at Del Ray Artisans, running all three days for last-minute gift hunters. Saturday brings the 10th Annual Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl and Wreaths Across America at Alexandria National Cemetery. At the same time, the Little Theater of Alexandria continues its run of “A Christmas Carol” with performances Friday through Sunday.
Here’s your complete guide to making the most of the weekend.

This guide is incredibly helpful. The Candy Cane Bar Crawl layered with snow forecast is actually pefect timing tho, dunno if anyone planned it that way but it'll make for some solid memories. The sheer density of events here shows how much community energy Alexandria's still got, even in December cold.
