Buddhist monks to pass through Alexandria tomorrow; measles exposures at Reagan National; Dog's Best Friends owner apologizes
Happy Super Bowl Sunday, Alexandria. Heads up for tomorrow: a group of about 19 Buddhist monks on a 2,300-mile Walk for Peace will pass through Alexandria on their way to Washington, D.C. They left Fort Worth in October and are expected to arrive at the Capitol by Tuesday. Rolling road closures are planned along Route 1.
A few other things to catch up on before kickoff: health officials are now reporting measles exposures at Reagan National Airport and Metro stations, a fire broke out at a Commonwealth Avenue laundromat this morning but was quickly knocked down, and the owner of Your Dog’s Best Friends has issued an apology after a groomer at the Richmond Highway shop was convicted of animal abuse.
