Timber Pizza Co. eyes Alexandria as next Virginia location
Award-winning D.C. pizzeria has deal 'in development' for city, company announces
Timber Pizza Co., the wood-fired pizza concept that earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and Bon Appétit’s Pizzeria of the Year honors, is planning to expand to Alexandria.
The D.C.-born brand announced Tuesday that it has a deal in development for an Alexandria location, alongside a separate deal for Richmond. The company did not disclose a specific address or timeline for the Alexandria opening.

Timber already has a footprint in Northern Virginia, with locations in McLean, Ballston, and Reagan National Airport. An Alexandria shop would be the brand’s fourth in the region.
Founded in 2014 by Andrew Dana and Chris Brady, who started with a pizza oven and a 1967 Chevy pickup, Timber has grown from farmers market pop-ups into a franchise operation. The company said it has opened six franchise locations in just over a year, with recent openings in Charleston, Raleigh, and Durham.
“The success we’ve seen over the past year has reinforced that we’re building something special,” Chris Brady, co-founder and president, said in a statement. “As we look to enter new markets, we’re excited to partner with operators who share our passion for quality, hospitality, and building neighborhood restaurants that people truly care about.”
Timber’s menu centers on 12-inch wood-fired pizzas with inventive toppings — smoked brisket with jalapeños, chorizo with pesto drizzle — alongside empanadas, salads, and a full bar. The restaurants operate on a walk-in-only basis, with no reservations.
