Yami Buffet officially opens on South Van Dorn Street
All-you-can-eat Asian restaurant fills space vacant since Red Lobster closure
Yami Buffet officially opened Tuesday following a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
The all-you-can-eat Asian buffet is located at 555 S. Van Dorn St. in a space that had been vacant since Red Lobster closed in August 2024. The restaurant features seafood, sushi, hibachi, barbecue, hot dishes and desserts.
Yami Buffet held a soft opening on Dec. 16 before Tuesday’s grand opening.

So excited to see Yami Buffet breathing new life into that old Red Lobster space! The combo of sushi, hibachi, and BBQ all in one spot is pretty genius for the area, gives folks alot more variety than they had before. Last time I checked out an all-you-can-eat place with that kind of range, it became our go-to spot for family gatherings cuz everyone could find somthing they actually wanted.
