ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria has named 22 artists to its first Mural Artist Roster, a list the city will use as its primary resource for choosing muralists for city-commissioned projects.
The Alexandria Commission for the Arts approved the selections in September, according to the city's Public Art Program. A public art task force recommended the artists after a regional call.
The city said the roster is meant to streamline its selection of artists for murals and expand opportunities for muralists across Alexandria. Businesses and community groups may also use it to commission their own projects.
