ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Alexandria Police Department has identified the victim in Wednesday night's homicide at the ParcView Apartments as Charles Talley, 36, with no fixed address.
At approximately 11:14 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, APD officers responded to the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located Talley suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures; however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
APD said there is no known ongoing threat to the community. Detectives continue to interview witnesses, process evidence, and follow investigative leads. No arrests have been made. Earlier Thursday, APD confirmed to the Alexandria Brief that no arrests had been made, despite reports elsewhere indicating two suspects had been arrested or apprehended.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything unusual before, during, or after the incident to come forward. APD is especially interested in doorbell camera footage, security camera video, cell phone photos or videos, dash camera footage, and information about people or vehicles in the area.
