ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria City School Board will announce the next superintendent of Alexandria City Public Schools at its meeting Thursday, two weeks earlier than it had planned, board Chair Christopher Harris said Tuesday.
In a message to families and staff, Harris said contract negotiations with the board's selected candidate "concluded earlier than anticipated, allowing the School Board to move forward with the announcement sooner."
The board expects the candidate to appear at the meeting virtually, Harris wrote.
