ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Alexandria Children's Theatre will stage "The Wizard of Oz" over two weekends in June, with a cast of 34 students from the District and Northern Virginia following the yellow brick road through Dorothy's journey to the land of Oz.

The production, directed by Michael Page, runs at Carl Sandburg Middle School, 3428 Fort Hunt Road, with six performances: June 5 at 7 p.m.; June 6 at 3 and 7 p.m.; June 12 at 7 p.m.; and June 13 at 3 and 7 p.m. The show is recommended for ages 5 and up, and audiences are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costume from the show.

Tickets are $16, with $1 from every ticket donated to the Carl Sandburg Middle School PTA. This spring, the theater has also been donating free tickets to local school and preschool raffles and silent auctions.
