ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Choral Society has named Cheryl Lovinsky its chorus manager, the organization announced Monday. She started Aug. 3.
The job covers the operations that keep a nearly 90-member chorus running — coordinating auditions, handling communications and managing logistics for the concert season. At her first full rehearsal, according to the organization, she told the singers her goal was to keep things orderly behind the scenes so performers could focus on the music.
Lovinsky comes from a career in direct response fundraising at the AARP Foundation and serves on the board of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington. She has also drafted bylaws and worked on board development for arts nonprofits including Bach in Baltimore and Arch Angel Production in New Jersey.
