ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Choral Society will open its 57th season Saturday, Oct. 24, with "Tapestry: A Festival of Belonging," a concert built around the languages and traditions of the city's residents.

The performance begins at 4 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial.

The program includes a new work by composer Nebal Maysaud, whose music draws on Western and Middle Eastern traditions, and poetry by Alexandria Poet Laureate Cristi Donoso about the immigrant experience, according to the choral society.
