Mayor Alyia Gaskins and all five members of the Alexandria City Council will appear together at a public breakfast next month to walk residents through the city's newly adopted budget and share updates on major initiatives shaping the city's future.
The 2026 City Council Breakfast, presented by Transurban and hosted by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, is set for Thursday, May 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town, 1767 King St. The event is the second in the chamber's three-part annual advocacy series. Alexandria's General Assembly delegation kicked off the series in March, covering the 2026 legislative session, budget standoff and key issues facing the city. The series closes with the chamber's Legislative Reception on Thursday, Sept. 5, at The Alexandrian Old Town.
Joining Mayor Gaskins will be Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley, Councilman Canek Aguirre, Councilman John Chapman, Councilman Abdel-Rahman Elnoubi, and Councilwoman Jacinta Greene — a full turnout of the city's elected leadership.
Members of Alexandria City Council are expected to highlight key investments in the adopted budget, address ongoing community development efforts and discuss progress across city neighborhoods and services. The session is billed as an opportunity for residents to connect directly with the officials overseeing Alexandria's direction.

Tickets are $55 for members and $75 for prospective members. Business attire — your version of it — is encouraged.
