ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The man charged in the July killing of Charles Talley is in custody in Alexandria, and police say license plate readers helped detectives identify a vehicle that led them to him.

Corey Delantau Stubblefield, 38, of Alexandria, is being held at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center, the Alexandria Police Department said Friday in a news release. Officers traveled to North Carolina on Thursday, took custody of him and brought him back to the city, the department said.

A grand jury indicted Stubblefield on Wednesday on charges of murder and use of a firearm in the commission of murder in the death of Talley, 36. An indictment is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
