Alexandria real estate tax bills are in the mail; second-half payments due Nov. 16

Late payments will be charged a penalty and interest, and the city says state law does not allow it to waive them for owners who didn't receive a bill.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The city has mailed bills for the second half of the 2026 real estate tax, along with the refuse fee and stormwater utility fee, to property owners and mortgage companies. Payment is due Monday, Nov. 16.

Payments that are not made or postmarked by that date will be charged a late penalty and interest.
