ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The city will hold a virtual meeting Oct. 22 on its plans to build a half-mile shared-use trail along North Beauregard Street in the West End, with construction scheduled to begin this winter.

That is about three years later than the city first projected. When it presented early designs in January 2022, the city expected construction to run from spring 2023 to summer 2024. It is now scheduled to run from this winter to winter 2027.

At the meeting, city staff will discuss the project's scope, construction schedule, and expected impacts, and will take questions.
