ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Beautification Commission has named the winners of its 2026 Beautification Awards, honoring a renovated West End shopping center, murals on a new affordable housing building, two nature sites and five home gardens.
The commission listed the winners in the first issue of its newsletter, sent Thursday. It said they improved public and private spaces from the West End to Old Town.
Last year, the commission named 19 winners citywide from more than 50 nominations, in residential, residential street and community categories. This year's newsletter does not say how many nominations it received.
