Two Virginia lawmakers who represent portions of both Alexandria and Arlington will join the full Arlington legislative delegation for a post-session town hall next Monday, giving constituents across both jurisdictions a chance to weigh in on the 2026 General Assembly session.

Sen. Elizabeth Bennett-Parker (SD-39) and Del. Alfonso Lopez (HD-3) will participate in the event alongside Sen. Barbara Favola (SD-40) and Dels. Patrick Hope (HD-1) and Adele McClure (HD-2). The town hall is scheduled for Monday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hickory Room at the Lubber Run Community Center, 300 N. Park Drive, Arlington.

The event follows a busy session that Bennett-Parker and Lopez discussed at a March 19 Alexandria Chamber of Commerce breakfast as one defined by housing, artificial intelligence and the fallout from expiring federal ACA subsidies. At that event, all four Alexandria lawmakers flagged artificial intelligence as a defining challenge for the Commonwealth — both in terms of opportunity and regulatory complexity.

On immigration, Lopez highlighted legislation addressing ICE detention practices, modeled on laws in Maryland, Massachusetts, Washington state and Illinois. The delegation also expressed support for constitutional amendments on voting rights, reproductive rights, marriage equality and congressional redistricting, with a redistricting ballot question set for April 21.
