ALEXANDRIA, Va. — FOX 5 will broadcast live from Alexandria's Waterfront Park this Friday morning as part of its annual Zip Trips summer series, which highlights communities across the Washington region each week.
The four-hour broadcast runs from 7 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St. The public is encouraged to attend.
More than a dozen news segments are planned, featuring interviews with local businesses, Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley, Alexandria Police and Fire, and Visit Alexandria, among others.
The broadcast will also highlight two major events converging in Alexandria this June — the World Cup and America's 250th anniversary commemorations. Alexandria is set to host the Croatian National Football Team and will hold Sails on the Potomac, the city's signature 250th anniversary event.
Alexandria is the third stop of the 2026 Zip Trip season, which launched May 22 in Gaithersburg and runs through September 4 at National Harbor. The series spotlights D.C.-area communities on Friday mornings throughout the summer. Friday's broadcast is being produced in coordination with Visit Alexandria and the City of Alexandria.
The public is welcome to head out and take part in the morning broadcast.
