From $175,000 to $2.7 million: Homes sold in Alexandria last week

Seven homes sold for $1 million or more, up from four, and the median price jumped to $882,000 from $472,500

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Twenty-three homes closed in Alexandria between Oct. 1 and Oct. 7, ranging from a $175,000 one-bedroom condominium at Canterbury Square to a $2.66 million new townhouse on North West Street, according to data from Redfin.

The average sale price was $931,620, and the median was $882,000, across an average of 1,796 square feet, or a blended $519 per square foot.

The middle of the market moved sharply higher. The median rose $409,500 from $472,500 the week before, and the average climbed from $683,982. Seven homes sold for $1 million or more, up from four. Five sold for less than $500,000, down from 13, and 11 landed in between.
