The Gadsby's Tavern Museum Society will hold its annual Spring Fling fundraiser this Saturday, April 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Gadsby's Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal St. — a fitting backdrop for a celebration tied to the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The evening will feature live music from Alexandria's own Patrick Kenny and Grand Ole Opry performer Sonny, an open bar, appetizers, and a silent auction. Cocktail attire is requested. Tickets are $125, with sponsorship packages ranging from $1,250 to $5,000.

All proceeds benefit the society's endowment fund, which supports preservation and programming at the museum, including its popular junior docent program. The society is pushing to reach a $250,000 endowment goal — a milestone timed to the nation's semiseptennial.

"Gadsby's Tavern was once a gathering place for the ideas, debates, and community spirit that shaped a new nation," the society notes, "and that legacy lives on today."

Tickets and sponsorship information are available at the Gadsby's Tavern Museum Society website.
