ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A local activist group plans a sidewalk rally Saturday and a get-out-the-vote event Sunday outside the Charles E. Beatley Jr. Central Library, timed to the start of weekend early voting in Alexandria.
Indivisible Do Something Alexandria is hosting both events at the library, 5005 Duke St. Participants will be outside the building, not inside, according to the group's event listing.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, participants plan to gather in the library's parking lot and line Duke Street to encourage people to vote early. The event is part of "No Kings: Vote Early," a national day of action organized by Indivisible and partner groups.
