Paws in the Park canceled Sunday as Isaias remnants approach; organizers hope to reschedule

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria has canceled Paws in the Park, which was scheduled for Sunday at Oronoco Bay Park, because of the storm forecast. The league said it is trying to reschedule.

The event had been billed as rain or shine. Organizers said Saturday that the forecast had moved past that.

“While we were prepared for rain or shine, this has turned into something much more than simple showers,” the league said in an email to supporters. “Safety is now a real concern.”
