ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria police arrested a man Friday on suspicion of stealing packages in Old Town and said he may be connected to several thefts reported across the neighborhood earlier that morning.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Alexandria Police Department said the adult male was apprehended Friday and that investigators believe he may be linked to multiple package thefts reported in the Old Town area that morning. The department did not release the suspect's name, age or any charges.
Police asked anyone who believes they may have been affected to contact Det. Whellan at 703-746-6228, adding that reporting the incidents helps investigators identify victims and return recovered property when possible.
The department did not say how many thefts are under investigation or detail the circumstances of the arrest.
