ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The City of Alexandria is asking residents to weigh in on safety improvements planned for Seminary Road between George Mason Drive and North Beauregard Street, a half-mile stretch that has recorded more than 150 crashes between 2018 and 2024 — including nine that resulted in death or severe injury.

The city has designated Seminary Road a high-crash corridor. Its adopted Vision Zero goal calls for eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries on Alexandria streets by 2028.

This fall marks the third round of community outreach on the project. The city is sharing refined design options developed in response to earlier input and asking residents to help identify a preferred design for the corridor.
