Clara Luvanga scored in the 84th minute and the Washington Spirit beat the Houston Dash 3-2 on Sunday night, moving closer to a third consecutive playoff berth and eliminating the Dash from postseason contention.

Miljana Ivanović scored twice for Houston, which twice came back to tie the match. The goals were her first in the NWSL, and she became the first Serbian player to score in league play, according to the Dash.

Washington (15-8-4) is third in the 16-team league with 49 points, six behind first-place Gotham FC and two behind the San Diego Wave. The Spirit are nine points above the playoff line and five points above the line to host a quarterfinal with three matches remaining.
