Washington Spirit forward Trinity Rodman and defender Tara Rudd have been called up to the U.S. women's national team for two friendlies against Brazil next month, U.S. Soccer announced Wednesday.

The teammates will travel to South America for a match June 6 at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. EDT, and a second June 9 at Arena Castelão in Fortaleza at 8:30 p.m. EDT.

The call-ups fall during the National Women's Soccer League's June international break, days after the Spirit's run to the Concacaf W Champions Cup final. Washington led that match 3-2 in the second half before falling 5-3 to Liga MX's Club América on May 23 in Pachuca, Mexico — the club's first appearance in the continental final.

Before they leave for Brazil, both players are expected to feature in the Spirit's last match before the break, a sold-out home date against Seattle Reign FC at Audi Field on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The game, the club's Spirit Rising Youth Night, drew the earliest sellout in franchise history. Washington does not play at home again until July 3.

Rodman has been a fixture of the U.S. roster since her first senior call-up in January 2022, with 13 goals and 11 assists in 55 appearances. She scored in each of the team's January friendlies against Chile and Paraguay — one of them set up by Rudd — and added two assists across three April friendlies against Japan.

With the Spirit, Rodman has started all 12 matches this season, recording three goals and three assists to tie for the team lead in both. In her sixth season in Washington, the forward has 39 goals and 26 assists, having helped the club win the 2021 NWSL Championship as a rookie and reach the league title match in 2024 and 2025.

Rudd earns her ninth senior call-up, with three assists in 12 appearances. She made her U.S. debut and first start against Colombia at the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, recording her first international assist, and in January, assisted a Rodman goal against Paraguay — the first scoring connection between the two Spirit teammates at the international level.

At the club level, Rudd has played every minute of all 12 of Washington's matches this season. The defender has anchored a back line that has kept six clean sheets, including a club-record four consecutive shutouts from late March through the end of April, and was named to the NWSL's Best XI of the Month for April.
