Good morning, Alexandria.

City Council meets at 8:30 this morning for a half-hour special session with one item on the docket: accepting the resignation of a City Council appointee. The notice doesn't say who; I've asked. I'll have more after the meeting.

Also today: police published a map of all 61 license plate reader cameras, meeting their Oct. 1 deadline — but the outside audit promised for the same date isn't happening as announced. The School Board is in contract talks with a superintendent candidate it hasn't named, with an announcement planned for Oct. 22. And reinstated school bus routes start Monday.

Heads up: The U.S. Military will conduct an aircraft flyover over Arlington National Cemetery today at 1:05 p.m., according to Alert DC.

Here's what you need to know for Friday, Oct. 2.
