The Thirteen opens its 15th season in Alexandria with Brahms and Margaret Bonds

The professional choir will perform Brahms' "A German Requiem" and Bonds' "Credo," a setting of W.E.B. Du Bois, on Oct. 16 at Schlesinger Concert Hall.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Thirteen, a Washington-based professional choir and orchestra, will open its 15th season in Alexandria on Oct. 16 with a program pairing Johannes Brahms' "Ein deutsches Requiem" with Margaret Bonds' "Credo."

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall. The group will repeat the program in Washington on Oct. 17 and in Bethesda, Maryland, on Oct. 18.

Artistic Director Matthew Robertson will conduct. Pianists Brian Ganz and Eric Conway will perform Brahms' own version of the Requiem for piano four hands. The soloists are Edmund Milly and Andréa Walker.
