ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Two people were stabbed in separate incidents in Alexandria Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to the Alexandria Police Department, with suspects charged in both cases and no known threat to the community.
In the first incident, Alexandria police officers responded to the 1200 block of Braddock Place at approximately 8:05 p.m. Tuesday for a reported assault near the Braddock Road Metro Station. Officers located an adult male suffering from a knife wound and apprehended the suspect at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, Maurice Moore, 55, with no fixed address, was charged with malicious wounding. The incident appears to be isolated, police said. In a second, domestic-related incident, officers responded to the 4800 block of West Braddock Road at approximately 2:26 a.m. Wednesday at the Newport Village Apartments. Officers located an adult female suffering from apparent knife wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, Junique Morris, 42, a resident of Alexandria, was quickly apprehended and charged with malicious wounding. The incident appears to be isolated, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mendez at 703-746-6736. Tips can also be submitted anonymously.
