ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria police ran 1,557 searches of their license plate reader system in September, according to a chart the department updated Monday on its license plate reader page.

It is the first version of the chart to state the period it covers. The chart it replaced showed 1,348 searches and gave no dates, as The Alexandria Brief reported Oct. 1. It had not changed since Sept. 8.

A second public figure does not match the first. The department's Flock transparency portal, updated Tuesday, reports 349 "user search sessions over the last 30 days."
