The city of Alexandria has suspended bulk yard waste and metal pickup through Friday, April 10, citing equipment availability issues, city officials announced.

The suspension affects all bulk collection services, including yard waste and metal items. Residents who have submitted or plan to submit pickup requests through Alex311 will see those requests placed on hold until collections resume.

City staff said they are working to restore service and will provide updates as conditions change.

Despite the suspension, officials are encouraging residents to continue submitting pickup requests as normal — either online or by calling 311 or 703-746-4311. Requests logged during the suspension will be addressed once equipment becomes available.

Residents whose bulk waste is not collected when service resumes should file a missed collection ticket online or by contacting Alex311.
