ALEXANDRIA, Va. - DASH is rolling out a new round of service changes starting Aug. 9, including expanded frequency on Line 32, schedule adjustments across six routes and a significant reshuffling of bus stops through Old Town North that will affect riders on Lines 30, 31 and 34.
The changes follow the Alexandria Transit Strategic Plan, DASH's annual review of system performance, ridership trends and community input. They were approved and funded as part of the city's annual budget process.
Line 32 frequency improvement
Line 32, which connects King Street Metro Station to the West Alexandria Transit Center, will run every 30 minutes end-to-end seven days a week beginning Aug. 9. The change expands on last year's weekday frequency improvement between Van Dorn Metro and the West Alexandria Transit Center.
Old Town North stop consolidation
The most significant change for riders in Old Town North is a rebalancing of bus stops along North Fairfax Street, Madison Street and Montgomery Street — the corridors served by Lines 30, 31 and 34 between City Hall/Market Square and the Braddock Road Metro Station.
DASH is consolidating stops to roughly every other block, equalizing spacing to improve accessibility and reliability. Stops along King Street are not affected.
Net changes: four stops removed in both directions, four new stops added eastbound and one added westbound. Riders should check the updated stop list before Aug. 9 to confirm whether their usual stop is being removed, relocated or unchanged.
Stops marked N/A in the list below are being removed. Green entries are new stops being added.

System-wide schedule adjustments
Minor timetable adjustments are coming to Lines 30, 31, 34, 35, 36 and 103 to account for new traffic patterns and improve on-time performance. Lines 30, 31 and the King Street Trolley will also see adjusted spacing between buses to more accurately reflect actual arrival and travel times.
What's ahead
DASH said the Aug. 9 changes are part of a longer-term effort to bring 30-minute or better off-peak frequency systemwide in the near term, with a goal of 15-minute all-day service on key corridors as outlined in the Alexandria Transit Vision Plan.
