Dog lovers, mark your calendars. The Del Ray Dog Fest returns Sunday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the George Washington Middle School parking lot for a rain-or-shine celebration of dogs, their owners, and the Del Ray community.
Now in its fourth year, the festival is hosted by the Del Ray Business Association and benefits the Alexandria Police Foundation's Caring for K9s Program, which provides essential healthcare for retired police dogs that served the Alexandria community.
The afternoon will include a dog fashion show, a distracted dog race, a luring course, an off-leash puppy playground, Rescue Row, a family zone, live music by Rook Richards, and more. A yoga class with dogs — Pups n' Poses with Yoga in Del Ray — begins at 10 a.m. and requires a separate ticket.
Admission is $17.85 for one adult and up to two dogs. The Pups n' Poses yoga class plus festival admission is $23.18. Children ages 2 to 12 are $12.51; children under 2 are free. Tickets are available through April 11 at visitdelray.com/events/del-ray-dog-fest-2026.
Attendees should note that no adult may handle more than two dogs, children may not handle dogs, and only standard 6-foot leashes are permitted — no retractable leashes. All dogs must be current on their rabies vaccination.
Volunteers are also needed; those interested can email delraydogfest@gmail.com. For more information on the Alexandria Police Foundation's Caring for K9s Program, visit alexandriapolicefoundation.org/caring-for-k9. Follow @delray_dogfest for updates.
