Sheriff’s Office offers free car seat checks Saturday

Certified technicians will inspect installations, adjust harnesses and check for recalls at the Public Safety Center. Two more events are scheduled through February.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Sheriff’s Office will hold a free car seat safety check Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the visitor parking lot of the Alexandria Public Safety Center, 2003 Mill Road.

Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will inspect existing installations, help install seats, adjust harnesses, and check seats for recalls and expiration dates, the office said. Technicians will also walk participants through installation so they can do it themselves. Most checks take a few minutes.
