WASHINGTON — Trinity Rodman scored in the 15th minute to lift the Washington Spirit to a 1-0 win over Racing Louisville FC on Wednesday night at Audi Field, extending the club's unbeaten run to six matches.

The victory marked the Spirit's third consecutive win and a club-record fourth straight clean sheet. Washington has collected 12 points over its six-match unbeaten stretch.

Rodman's goal, her second in as many matches, came off a cross from Sofia Cantore, who carried the ball down the right side of the box before serving it to the forward. Rodman tucked the strike into the corner of the net.

The Spirit dominated the run of play on a rainy night in Buzzard Point, outshooting Louisville 13-6 and putting five shots on goal to Louisville's one. Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver made one save to preserve the shutout.

Washington nearly conceded in the second half when Louisville was awarded a penalty kick after a foul was called in the box. A VAR review determined that Hal Hershfelt's challenge was legal, and the spot kick was waved off. Hershfelt, making her 50th regular-season appearance, finished with five successful tackles.

Andi Sullivan returned to Audi Field for the first time since September 2024, entering as a substitute in the 63rd minute to a loud reception from the home crowd. Coach Jonatan Giráldez also turned to forwards Claudia Martínez and Gift Monday off the bench as the Spirit pushed for a second goal that never came.

Rodman drew the only Spirit booking, picking up a yellow card in the 10th minute. Louisville's Kayla Fischer was cautioned in the 34th.

The Spirit now begins a stretch of road matches, starting with a trip to Orlando to face the Pride at 4 p.m. on Saturday on ION. Washington will also travel to Seattle, San Diego, and Pachuca before returning to Audi Field on May 30.
