Teen pedestrian critically injured in North Van Dorn Street crash

A 15-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a driver Thursday evening on North Van Dorn Street and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Alexandria police said.

The crash occurred near Holmes Run Parkway. Police shut down northbound North Van Dorn Street at the parkway around 8 p.m. The road reopened shortly after 11 p.m.

No additional details about the circumstances of the crash or the teen’s condition were immediately available. Police did not say whether the driver remained on scene or provide information about any charges.
