It's the final weekend of Black History Month, and Alexandria is marking the occasion with a variety show at the Lee Center on Friday, a Jazz Night at the Departmental Progressive Club, and the "Old Town Roots: 250 Years of Black Resilience" bus tour on Saturday.

The weather looks great — mostly sunny Friday with highs in the low 50s, warming to the low 60s Saturday before cooling off Sunday with partly sunny skies and highs around 50. Also, Saturday, the Del Ray Chili Cook Off returns at Commonwealth Academy to benefit La Tiendita, the Mount Vernon Community School pantry. Daniel O'Connell's celebrates 20 years with live music all day, and Empty Bowls Alexandria raises funds for hunger relief at Beth El Hebrew Congregation.

Note: Saturday is also the last day for Whiskey & Oyster, which closes after a five-year run.
