Spring officially arrives at 10:46 a.mm. on Friday, and there's plenty to do in Alexandria this weekend.

Friday brings increasing clouds with highs near 68 degrees and showers likely in the evening, but the rain clears out for a beautiful Saturday and Sunday — mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s and mid-70s.

Shoppers can explore more than 20 Old Town boutiques as part of the Bloom Together passport event running Friday through Sunday. Saturday brings a resource fair for federal workers and contractors hosted by Congressman Don Beyer and local governments, plus World Water Day activities and a nature walk at Dora Kelley Nature Park.

Art lovers won't want to miss the opening reception for "Now or Never" by Alicia Eggert at Waterfront Park — the latest installation in the Site See: New Views in Old Town public art series.
