With five weeks until Election Day and early voting already underway, Alexandria voters have at least two upcoming opportunities to hear directly from the three candidates competing for the City Council seat vacated by Del. Kirk McPike.

Tomorrow: Del Ray Business Association
The Del Ray Business Association hosts its March Coffee & Conversation membership meeting on Wednesday, March 18, at Piece Out Del Ray, 2419 Mt. Vernon Ave. Networking begins at 7:30 a.m., and the program starts at 8 a.m. This month's program will feature Democratic nominee Sandy Marks, independent Frank Fannon, and independent Alison Virginia O'Connell. The event is free for DRBA members; RSVPs are requested.
March 25: West End Business Association
The West End Business Association hosts a "Conversation with Candidates" on Wednesday, March 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fēnū Bar & Restaurant, 512 S. Van Dorn St., Unit D. All three candidates have confirmed they will attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions; questions may also be submitted in advance to info@alxweba.org. Early voting is underway
More than 11,600 Alexandria voters have already cast or requested ballots in the April 21 special election, according to city election data updated through March 16. The city has sent 9,911 mail-in ballots, of which 2,218 have been returned. Another 1,780 voters have cast ballots in person at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 N. Royal St.
The last day to register to vote is April 14. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is April 10. Early voting continues through April 18. The full election dashboard is available at alexandriava.gov.
