ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Wilderness Kids Alexandria will host its 4th Annual Community Music Festival on Sunday, Sept. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square in Del Ray, with five local bands, games, and activities for all ages.
The free event will feature performances by The Walkaways, Fork in the Road, the Bad Dates, and the Vaughn Ambrose Trio, among others. Attendees can also enjoy cornhole, ping pong, facepainting, crafts, and a raffle with prizes from local businesses, along with a 50/50 drawing.
All proceeds benefit Wilderness Kids Alexandria, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides life-enriching experiences in nature to teenagers from under-resourced families and underserved communities in Alexandria. The organization serves more than 220 students per year through after-school, weekend, and summer programs, taking teens hiking, biking, climbing, paddling, camping, skiing, caving, and sailing throughout the region.
Founded on values of equity, curiosity, and mindfulness, WKA aims to build both outdoor skills and life skills while creating a sense of belonging in outdoor spaces for students of all backgrounds. The organization is committed to building an inclusive community representative of the wider Alexandria community it serves.

Admission is free, though donations are encouraged at the festival or at wildernesskidsalexandria.org.
