Woodrow Wilson Bridge maintenance to cause traffic delays Thursday night

Multiple bridge openings scheduled between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge will undergo monthly maintenance on Thursday night, causing intermittent traffic stops.

The bridge will open multiple times between 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, and 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, weather permitting, according to an AlertDC notification.

Drivers should expect delays during the maintenance period.

The traffic alert was the first reported by Alert DC.

The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge Management reports there will be a bridge opening for maintenance from 10:00 PM, on Thursday, November 6, through 5:00 AM, on Friday, November 7, weather permitting.

During this time there will be multiple bridge openings and intermittent traffic stops.

The bascule bridge spans the Potomac River between Alexandria and Prince George’s County, Maryland. It opened in December 1961.
